Virtual400.com/emailrus.com mail server enhancements.

If you are a Virtual400.com subscriber using your Virtual400.com or emailrus.com account for pop-3 email you will see a change in the next two weeks.

Our email servers have been under attack by spammers causing us to send millions of outbound emails over the last month. This has caused a tremendous amount of work on the behalf of our network engineers to stop. (It is stealing bandwidth from our paying customers).

We will be implementing secure email connections over the next two weeks. What does this mean to you? It means you will have to modify your email client to perform secure email processing. It literally is a small change and it causes your email client to authenticate before we receive your email to send outbound.

If you do not make this change, you will not be able to use your email account for pop-3 email. If you are not using pop-3 email with us there will be no change for you to make at all. (Your email address with us will continue to forward to the address you used when you first signed up).

We are also using the opportunity to give you notice that our web based email product is interfaced so you can use the web to get and send email.
