Overview: Websphere Development Studio Client is an IBM program product providing a client/server GUI interface for a variety of development uses. IBM has merged many of the familiar features from Legacy development and newer GUI development into one tool running from your PC and communicating with the iSeries System.

It is a package of workstation tools that helps solution providers and customers rapidly and cost-effectively increase the number of e-business applications for the iSeries server.

This package consolidates all of the key iSeries workstation-based development tools into one iSeries offering.

Features:

IBM WebFacing Tool
The IBM WebFacing Tool can convert your DDS display source files into an application that can be run in a browser.
Remote Systems Explorer
The Remote Systems Explorer is a programming environment that supports multiple views, editors, tools, and tool extensions.
Java development tools
These tools encompass all the writing, editing, compiling, and debugging functions needed in a complete Java development cycle. Java development tools also contain several iSeries-specific enhancements.
Web development tools
Web development tools encompass all the designing, editing, testing, debugging and publishing functions needed in a Web development cycle. These tools also contain several iSeries-specific enhancements.
Database development tools
Database development tools are included in this product.
Web services development tools
Web services development tools allow developers to create modular applications that can be invoked on the World Wide Web.
Server development tools
Server development tools are used to test applications in a local or remotely installed run-time environments.
XML development tools
XML development tools support any XML-based development.
CODE
CODE is the classic set of Windows tools for iSeries development. Its functionality will be subsumed by the Remote Systems Explorer.
VisualAge RPG
VisualAge RPG is a visual development environment that allows you to create and maintain client/server applications on the workstation.
